Ceramics, strap
100x 20x 20cm

Solo-exhibition at B93

The work ‘Smashed Memories’ is a reflection on images seen on the news of houses in ruines, because of war, natural disasters or abandonment. The work is hanging in mid air, bound together by a strap, tightening it while hanging.
The smashed together ceramics show the material surface of what a home used to be, but in it’s damaged state only tells the story of what is lost. The memories of what used to be are hard not to see, but even harder to keep as happy ones. The building resembling the inner world destroyed, by the outer shape that is slowly crumbling to pieces.
